About this Program

Up to one in four adults in the United States live with some type of physical, sensory or cognitive disability, and many of these people find it difficult to find and use digital or web-based information. Today, accessible technologies and design practices make it possible to ensure that everyone — regardless of ability — has equal access to digital information.

In this one-course specialization, you’ll learn to develop digital content that any user can access, navigate and understand. You’ll understand federal regulations and international standards regarding web and mobile accessibility, and you’ll learn to follow four guiding principles of accessibility to provide any user with digital information that’s “perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.” In the end, you’ll build a resource toolkit and get hands-on practice designing digital documents, multimedia and websites for people of all abilities.
